Thailand, Day 8 driving

So I told AEW to say silk 5 times fast. Then when she was done I asked her what cows drink. Unlike most Americans who say milks she answered it correctly.

I drove for a little bit in the heavy traffic from Bangkok to Khon Kean so AEW could rest. A truck shot into my lane and stopped abruptly. I almost slammed right into the truck. AEW said, no more driving for you. I'm awake now.

 We saw a billboard for SK ZIC, the company AEW works for and took a photo.

Thailand, Day 8 morning

It's Dec 29th. We couldn't get an Uber or taxi to get to the airport so we ended up driving to the airport. It was so busy and it took us 20-30 minutes to find a parking spot. We needed to be at the airport 1 hour before the flight left. 

We were 10 minutes late, about 6:15 am, and they would not let us board. They also would not refund our money either. Funny thing is the plane was 30 minutes late so it should have still been boarding. Over all it has been a terrible morning. Now we are in rush hour like stop and go traffic trying to drive to Khon Kean for 8-12 hours and haven't had anything to eat or drink yet.

We found a place to eat a late breakfast before or long drive to Khon Kean and Roi Et.

Thailand, Day 7 evening

 It's Dec 28th. We went to a big family party hosted by AEW's brother's mother-in-law. There was a stage with performers, catered food and drinks, and great people. I was treated so well by everyone but there were some children that screamed and ran away from me. 

Thailand, Day 7 afternoon

 

It's Dec 28th. We have left the resort and we are heading to the Red Lotus Floating Market.

 We ate at the Bua Cafe.

 I finally saw a speed limit sign. The first one so far. When I asked about the speed limit I was told people drive as fast or slow as they want.

Thailand, Day 7 morning

It's Dec 28th. This was part of our free breakfast at the resort's restaurant. It was a delicious and a very filling meal. Did I mention that it was free?

After breakfast we went on a bike ride around the resort on complimentary bicycles. We were warned not to ride outside of the resort since there are many unfriendly dogs in the area.

I rode down one of the new bike paths and almost crashed because it is not finished yet. I went up a little hill and as I started down, pow, the road ended and there was construction. It would have been a terrible crash if I wasn't able to stop. They laughed and told us the bike trail was washed away by the tsunami. He was just joking. It was very funny.

We did not have any hair ties so guess what AEW used to tie her hair up to take a shower? Guess!

Thailand, Day 6 night

We found a resort to stay at for 1300 bhat which is about $38. The room is very nice and clean. We had some trouble figuring out how to turn on the hot water at first but everything is good now.

 There are many birds, butterflies, and mosquitos all over the resot.

 We had a very big dinner with cabbage, fried fish cakes, morning glory salad, and basil pork with rice.

 Then some fresh watermelon for dessert.

Famous Thai rice from this area that is only exported to Singapore.
